たまに引っ張り出してきて聴いては悶えてしまうEnoのBefore and After Science（レコードのB面がたまらん）の一番のお気に入りの曲、By this River. ミニマル。なんの飾りもない音、淡々とした歌。ジワーっと心の奥に触れてくる。この曲に出会ったのはもう３０年も前。今でも全く色褪せることなく。
